Terms of Service — pretend.date

1. Acceptance & eligibility
By creating an account or using pretend.date you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. The service is not available to minors.
2. What the service is
pretend.date provides fictional AI companions. Characters are artificial intelligence, not real people. Their messages are AI-generated, may be inaccurate or fictional, and are for entertainment only. The service is not a real relationship and is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, psychological, or otherwise). Characters will never meet you in person or on a call.
3. Your account
Provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and don't share your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.
4. Content standards & acceptable use
The service is SFW. You agree not to:
- send or solicit any sexual content involving minors, or present yourself as a minor;
- request instructions to harm others or do anything dangerous or illegal;
- harass, abuse, or attempt to manipulate the safety systems;
- upload content you don't have the right to, or impersonate real people;
- scrape, automate, or misuse the service.
We use automated safety checks and human moderation. We may review, remove, or restrict content and characters, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Reporting & safety
You can report characters or messages in-app. If you're in crisis, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line — see our in-app resources.
6. Photos & your content
You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant us a limited license to store and display it solely to operate the service for you. Don't upload anything unlawful or that infringes others' rights.
7. Subscriptions & payments
[When available] Premium features are offered via subscription billed through [Paddle / payment processor]. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be shown at purchase and are governed by the processor's terms.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its characters, and its content (excluding your uploads) are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or exploit them except as allowed by these Terms.
9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations or to protect the service.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
